Opel unveils all-electric Corsa-e with 330km range

As part of PSA, the electric Opel shares the e-CMP platform with models such as the Peugeot e-208 and DS 3 Crossback E-Tense. Developed together with Dongfeng, the architecture is the base for electrified vehicles in the C and D segment across the group.

The system delivers a 100 kW and offers a range of 330 kilometres in the WLTP cycle (provisional value). According to the manufacturer, the 50 kWh battery, for which Opel offers an eight-year warranty, can be charged to 80 per cent within 30 minutes by quick charging.

The Corsa-e is fitted with a variety of charging options, including cable, wall box and high-speed charging. The charging process can be monitored via an app, also provided by Opel. Regarding the general connectivity of the Corsa-e, the manufacturer states that “Technologies and assistance systems that are more often found in higher market segments make their debut in the Corsa-e.” This mainly refers to the intelligent lighting system, however additional safety features are also included to assist drivers, next to the traditional telematics systems available through Opel Connect.

While this is the sixth generation of the popular vehicle, it is the first version that is fully electric. But the small build hides a versatile core as the electric vehicle offers three different driving modes from range saving eco options to more sporty modes.

Opel has not named a price for the electric car yet as the official world debut is only set on June 4 which also marks the on-sale date.
