Osram completes the acquisition of Ring Automotive

Following the approval of the UK’s Competent Body for Competition and Competition (CMA) to take over Ring Automotive by Osram, the partnership between the company was officially announced on the first of May 2019.

Acquisition of a British expert support service will enable Osram to expand its range in the automotive sector to include more automotive electronics and accessories.

“In addition to the extension of the aftermarket portfolio, Ring’s acquisition will enable us to leverage additional sales potentials and further expand our market expertise. The goal is to use additional market access and to create synergies in product portfolio and distribution channels,” said Hans-Joachim Schwabe , executive director of Osram Automotive, in a statement.

Acquisition Ring Automotive strengthens Osrams’ aftermarket business and offers customers access to a wider, complementary product range. Both companies see the agreement as an opportunity for successful European co-operation. The common goal is to respond faster and better to new trends and challenges in the automotive lighting industry that is constantly evolving and achieving further growth

Ringa’s range of products goes beyond classical automotive lighting, and the company is particularly successful in the field of electronic car accessories. About 3000 products are available in over 3000 specialized retailers in more than 60 countries. With 160 employees, the British company had an annual turnover of 46.1 million pounds in 2018. The Osram affiliation also provides additional ring investments that support future growth and product innovation plans to continue to grow, especially in the aftermarket segment.

“Being part of the Osram family offers us incredible opportunities for further global expansion, the synergies are enormous and will help us to keep up with our leadership in innovation.” In the future, our customers will benefit from the many years of experience of both companies, “says George Skalski, Automotive.
