Robotic Arms xArm Designed to Help Small Businesses

Robotic hands are already decades-long on production lines, but such assistance usually costs a lot. For these tools to be available to smaller companies, UFactory has now introduced xArm, a rugged hand at the initial level designed to be affordable enough to those who might otherwise be left empty.
XArm comes in three models. XArm 5 Lite is an initial robot, with five joints, 2 kg load capacity, and specialty in collecting tasks. XArm 6 is the next step with a payload of up to 5 kg and six joints giving it more flexibility. And the best is xArm 7, with 3.5 kg of payload, seven wrists and flexibility that UFactory says is consistent with the human hand.
All three carriers have a range of 691 mm, they are wrapped in carbon fiber shell to reduce their weight and ultimately are universal carriers so that various tools can be attached. These tools include a vacuum suction cup and handle, along with a camera for better sensors. UFactory says xArm is capable of repeating precision movements within 0.1 mm. For safety, xArm 6 and 7 also have built-in collision detection, stopping them in half a second.
To make sure these tools are available as they should, UFactory includes a software package called xArm Studio that helps people to program robots for the default job. Along with the basic drag-and-drop encoding interface, users can “learn” robots by manually moving their hands to desired positions. The studio can run on portable and tablet PCs running Windows, iOS, Linux, and Android.
