American multinational technology and consulting corporation IBM will open a Client Innovation Centre in the Croatian capital Zagreb next year, technical Prime Minister Tihomir Orešković has confirmed.
The company will open a Client Innovation Centre in Zagreb in the Spring of 2017, creating around 500 new jobs. The company is currently searching for a location in the capital for the new center. IBM Croatia Director Damir Zec says that the jobs will be created in stages.
“We have been present in Croatia for more than 20 years and the decision to expand the business right here, through a new center that will meet the needs of users around the world, was made because of the location, the business environment and the labor market here,” center said Zec.
Commenting on the decision made by IBM to open a center in Croatia, Orešković said it was a big day for Croatia and shows that the country can be competitive and sends a positive message to investors.
“Creating high-quality IT jobs is a priority for our economy, and in addition, it is important to we can show other investors that IBM has decided to invest here,” said Orešković.
