SK Telecom team up with Microsoft on AI, 5G and Cloud

Chief Executive Officer of SK Telecom Park Jung-ho and Chief Executive Officer of Microsofta Satya Nadella signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Co-operation in ICT, including 5G, artificial intelligence and cloud.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding, SK Telecom and Microsoft will combine their technology capabilities in areas such as 5G, AI and Cloud to jointly promote IoT business, including a smart factory, AI technologies and services, media and entertainment services. and new ways of working for ICT companies under the aegis of the SK Group.

In order to promote the business of IoT smart factories, two companies established a business strategic partnership in February 2019 with the aim of launching Microsoft Azure with Metatron, an independent solution for large data from SK Telecom.

SK Telecom and Microsoft will work together to further upgrade services and implement joint marketing activities.

By merging the capabilities of SK Telecom NUGU’s AI platform with Microsoft’s Cortana Digital Assistant, these two companies will jointly offer new AI products and services, including consumer solutions such as smartphones and other enterprise bidding.

SK Telecom will adopt Microsoft 365 and extend it to other SK SKZ group companies.
